Bryan Forbes’ stylish psychological thriller, about a medium who plans to kidnap a child and help the police solve the crime to bolster her claims of clairvoyance, stars Kim Stanley and Richard Attenborough.
Attenborough won a Bafta for his performance as the impressionable Billy Savage, while the film is also notable for its rare lead performance from acclaimed theatre and television actor Kim Stanley, who wouldn’t make another film appearance until Frances in 1982.
The film’s composer, John Barry, was , by 1964, already synonymous with the James Bond films: Goldfinger was released that same year.
