A year after my first radio job for Michael Bartlett, he brought me back to play seasonal music for this. I can’t remember much about it, except being excited to meet Maurice Denham, Colin Jeavons and Peter Woodthorpe, all three of whom were familiar to me from radio and TV. Jeavons had been as creepy a Uriah Heep as there has ever been when he played the part opposite Ian McKellan as David Copperfield in the BBC’s 1966 dramatisation, which I’d watched when I was twelve years old and have never forgotten.
